Vision - Mission

We, the Society of the Divine Word – Philippine Northern Province (SVD-PHN), cradle of the Philippine SVD, living the spirituality of Arnold Janssen, envision a community in dialogue with the Word, the world, and with one another.

Thus,

We, the Society of the Divine Word – Philippine Northern Province, stand for community life and contemplation, pioneering work and frontier missions, cultural diversity, integrity, and internationality at the service of communion.

We enter into constant and dynamic dialogue with the poor and marginalized, the indigenous peoples, faith seekers, secular ideologies, and youth, in the light of the four characteristic dimensions: Justice and Peace and Integrity of Creation, Bible Apostolate, Mission Animation, and Communication.

We believe in teamwork with one another; in responsible stewardship; and in collaborative ministry with the local church.

We pass over to deeper faith, mutual trust, caring, solidarity, and fullness of life.

We invoke the guidance of the Holy Triune God through our devotion to the Blessed Eucharist and the intercession of our Blessed Mother Mary and St. Joseph and Sts. Arnold Janssen and Joseph Freinademetz, Blessed Helena Stollenwerk and the SVD martyrs Bl. Gregory Frackowiak, Aloysius Liguda, Stanislaus Kubista, and Louis Mzyk.
