St. Nicholas de Flue Parish celebrates Golden Jubilee
St. Nicholas de Flue Parish in Sallapadan, Abra celebrated its golden jubilee on March 20, 2010. A procession was held in the morning to ask for rain and good harvest. Afterwards, the Holy Mass was celebrated with Fr. Devasagayam Savariyappan, SVD as main celebrant. Fr. Savariyappan, in his homily, emphasized the importance of giving thanks to God, and living a life rooted in Christ. This, he said, is the kind of life Saint Nicholas lived, filled with faith and trust in God.
As part of the celebration, Plaques of Appreciation were awarded to 25 pastoral leaders and catechists who have worked for evangelization in the parish for ten years or more.
Fr. Albert Engetschwieler, SVD was the first parish priest. Fr. Warlito Rabon, SVD is the current parish priest of St. Nicholas de Flue parish.
The parish covers the towns of Sallapadan, Bucloc and Daguioman.
