Couple inspires Catholic educators

A CATHOLIC priest and his students praised the work of Christopher Bernido and his wife Maria Victoria Carpio-Bernido who were awarded the 2010 Ramon Magsaysay Award for their work in science and education for poor students.

“They deserve the award,” said Claretian missionary Father James Castro, director of Claret School of Zamboanga City.

The priest said the couple did “great work in the field of education,” using an innovative method that helps students and teachers.

“It makes students responsible and teachers more dedicated,” Father Castro said.
