Diaconate Ordination in Abra

Seven members of the Maramisa Class of the Divine Word Seminary in Tagaytay City and one from the Immaculate Conception School of Theology (ICST) in Vigan were ordained deacons by Bishop Leopoldo Jaucian, SVD, DD on July 2, 2009 at the Our Lady of the Pillar Parish Church in San isidro, Abra, formerly Cagutongan, the first mission station of the Society of the Divine Word in the Philippines.

The newly ordained deacons are Rev. Benedicto Awitin from Kiblawan, Davao del Sur; Rev. Ferdinand Antoine Bajao, SVD from Tagbilaran, Bohol; Rev. Dante Barril from Batuan, Bohol; Rev. Severo Biton Jr. from Lamitan, Basilan; Rev. Abraham Ronald Borja from Bangued, Abra; Rev. Michael Namba from Mt. Hagen, Western Highlands, Papua New Guinea and Rev. Crisostomo Salar Jr from Matin-ao, Surigao del Norte. Rev. John Vasquez of ICST is from Lagangilang, Abra.
